Invers was born from the observation that the proteins used in French livestock farmin are predominantly imported and lack sustainability
South American soy and Peruvian fishmeal, with their devastating ecological impacts, are the primary sources of protein for feeding livestock.
Our Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region boasts a robust and well-structured agricultural sector, with tens of thousands of farms and jobs, including livestock farms that partially rely on these imported proteins.
Faced with these challenges, we felt compelled to explore credible and sustainable alternatives!
our hero: the mealworm beetle
Among the seven insect species currently authorised in Europe for feeding livestock and pets, Invers has chosen the Tenebrio Molitor. This decision is both strategic and aligned with our model:
- A beetle with a local diet: The Tenebrio Molitor primarily feeds on cereals and has a particular fondness for wheat bran, an agricultural by-product abundantly available in our region
- Perfect for farm-scale rearing: With a life-scale lasting several weeks, the Tenebrio Molitor is well-suited to small-scale on-farm rearing
- Exceptional nutritional value: The mealworm larva possesses exceptional nutritional qualities, making it ideal for high-quality animal feed.

Our solutions
Invers develops a range of sustainable solutions to meet the protein needs of animal feed while upcycling by-products into organic fertilisers.
Invers in the news

On s’y met ?
