A local insect farming industry
Invers is creating a fully integrated and innovative production chain for high-quality protein, intended for animal feed – for birds, pets and livestock.
Historically based in the heart of Limagne, we are working alongside local farmers and cooperatives to develop a 100% sustainable French insect-farming industry.
From the raw materials used to feed the mealworms to the use of insect waste to fertilise the soil, this model is deeply rooted in the local area
A circular and resilient model
Eco-design is part of our DNA and form the outset, our model has been developed with a focus on ressource preservation.
Utilising local by-products: wheat bran, a by-product from the Limagne mills, is our main input.
Maximising the value of production waste: from larvae waste that fertilise soils to chitin from insect shells used in bioplastics, nothing is wasted!
Minimising our energy needs: our buildings are energy-efficient, require no heating and are now powered by renewable energy from photovoltaic panels.
Through the development of workshops on farms, Invers is helping to create a dynamic ecosystem which is more respectful of the environment and all living things.
A replicable model !
The first production chain was developed in Auvergne, consisting of a hathery capable of supplying up to 25 insect farms and a network of insect-rearing farmers located within a 50km radius. The integration was made possible through close collaboration with local cooperatives. .
This unique model has been designed to be replicable and adaptable to the specific production needs and market demands of different regions. Working at the scale of a local area or region is essential if we aim to strenghten the resilience of our agriculture and the vitality of our rural areas.

farmers at the heart of the model
Our unique approach ? the farming phase takes place directly with our partner farmers, promoting the sustainability of the industry, the local area and the environment.
