SÉBASTIEN CRÉPIEUX

An Engineer-Doctor in Agronomy (AgroParisTech, Eng. 2000, PhD 2004), Sébastien has gained diverse professional experience at INRA, the Limagrain Group, and the European Commission.

In 2007, he founded the innovative company PlantDesign in Belgium, specialising in green walls, which became the market leader in the BeNeLux region by 2012. He sold PlantDesign in 2015 to relocate to France with his family. There, he established Agricologie, a consultancy focused on innovation in agriculture and the agro-ecological transition.

In 2016, during a mission to set up the Large-Scale Crops Innovation Laboratory (LIT) with the Limagrain Group and various agricultural stakeholders in the Auvergne region (www.litgca.com), the idea for developing a new agricultural sector centred on insect farming for animal feed was born. This project, grounded in circular economy principles and sustainability, was incubated within Agricologie until the creation of INVERS in March 2018.

Sébastien is a founding shareholder of Invers.

He began in logistics with the Hamburg Süd Group in Brazil and Australia, before moving to agribusiness with the Roullier Group in England and Argentina, where he led marketing and sales teams. It was during this time that he witnessed the limitations of sustainability in the raw material supply chains underpinning our economy, food systems, and healthcare. This experience inspired him to align entrepreneurial values with social and environmental principles.

Bastien graduated from the Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon (AgroParisTech) in 2000 and completed a DEA (Master’s in Research) in Marketing and Strategy at Paris IX Dauphine University.

Bastien is the Executive Director of the Earthworm Foundation (formerly known as The Forest Trust), a global non-profit organisation that partners with businesses to address the major environmental and social challenges facing our planet through their value chains.

He held various leadership roles, including VP in charge of development and US operations, CEO of Toxic Waste and Sanitation activities, President of Sarp Industries and Sarp and ultimately CEO of all Waste and Services operations in France.

He also served as a board member of Veolia Water Systems for three years and was the founder of Waste Force, an NGO linked to the UN, addressing urgent intervention needs in cases of severe accidental pollution in underprivileged countries.

In late 2011, Pascal founded NextGreen, a consulting and private equity firm dedicated to helping companies, groups, and organisations develop strategies and projects that address environmental challenges and needs. NextGreen focuses particularly on recycling and environmental footprint issues, leveraging an extensive professional network across Europe, North and South America, and with connections in Asia and Africa.

In early 2014, while continuing to lead NextGreen, he joined the family-owned Onet Group (with a turnover of €2 billion). As a member of the Executive Board, he drove the group’s international expansion, creating a dedicated division under his leadership, representing 15% of the group’s revenue and operating across three continents, including in the US, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.
